Nelson Flores is a well-known dance teacher, dance competition judge, and the founder and creative director of the Latin dance production company Descarga Latina. The team began as a small Salsa dance troupe in 1997(with many previous members of Santo Rico Dance Company), and slowly evolved into something much more, now having performed on many prestigious stages. The shows include singing, dancing, acting, and comedy. Nelson is the manager of the group, a choreographer, producer and project manager. He has also served as an official Judge for the World Salsa Competition, sponsored by sports network giant ESPN, and worked as an event planner for the NYNJ Salsa Festival consecutively in 2005, 2006, 2007. He and the team have even given training to great dancers like Super Mario and Maria Palmieri. Nelson is known for his smooth style, authentic and musical choreography and combinations.

Nelson is producer of the international dance competition World Salsa Summit and has been a dancer in several companies: Fuerza Latina, Mario Diaz Dance Revue and the Santo Rico Dance Company.Today in addition to being one of the “Masters of New York Mambo” himself, Nelson is the director of his own dance group, the Descarga Latina Dance Company.Nelson’s dancing and choreography skills have taken him to Japan, Turkey, Italy, Belgium, Amsterdam, England, Peru, Germany, Canada, and throughout the United States.He has performed with Tito Puente, Tito Nieves, Celia Cruz, Fania All-Stars, India, El Gran Combo, Jose Alberto “El Canario” and various other artists.
